The word for May’s luncheon is boring and overused. It’s “Workforce.” A better word would be “Fear,” because that’s what employers in many sectors of our region’s economy are feeling.
Fear that their competition will poach another quality employee.
Fear that salary hikes will strip profits or push costs too high.
Fear that they will be forced to hire subpar talent.
Fear that their business will collapse.
Workforce fears are real. The Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce however, is helping, and at May’s “In a Word” luncheon our speakers panel will share facts about local challenges and solutions. We’ll also let you ask questions.
Without naming names -- because content is king -- our panel rocks. It includes a hiring innovator from Fairfax County’s largest employer, a local data guru from academia, a development partner who knows inside secrets about trade and industrial workforce solutions, and a chief people officer who knows about labor trends and best practices.
Oh, and did we mention that Simon Fowler will again be moderating - with British wittiness?
